Privacy notice

Written to be read rather than to satisfy a lawyer. Last updated November 4, 2026.

What I collect

Only what's needed to quote and service insurance for you. Typically that means your name and contact details, information about the property, vehicles, or business you want covered, and details about your current or prior coverage and loss history.

If you move forward with a policy, the carrier may collect more, including things like motor vehicle records for auto or prior loss reports for property. Those are the carrier's collections under their own notices, and they'll tell you about them.

What I do with it

I use it to prepare quotes, submit applications to carriers on your behalf, service policies I've placed, and communicate with you about your coverage. That's the whole list.

Who sees it

Insurance carriers and wholesale brokers I submit your information to, in order to quote or place coverage. Service providers that help run the business, such as an agency management system, under agreements limiting what they can do with it. And anyone I'm legally required to disclose to, including regulators.

I do not sell your information, and I don't share it with unaffiliated companies for their own marketing.

Your choices

  • You can ask what information I hold about you and ask for corrections.
  • You can ask me to stop contacting you at any time, by any channel, and I will.
  • You can decline to provide information, though it may mean I can't quote accurately or at all.
  • California's Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act (Insurance Code section 791 and following) applies to insurance producers regardless of size. Under it you may ask in writing what recorded personal information I hold about you and receive it, ask me to correct or delete information you believe is wrong, and if I decline, have your own statement of dispute filed alongside it.
  • If an adverse underwriting decision is made, you are entitled to the specific reasons for it in writing.
  • The CCPA applies to businesses above revenue and volume thresholds that this one does not meet. If that changes, this notice changes with it.

This website

Forms. When you submit the quote or contact form, what you typed is sent to me by email and arrives at an address on this domain. It is not written to a database on this site and is not stored on the web server. The email is the record.

Who handles it in transit. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, and the form submission passes through an email delivery service in order to reach my inbox. My email is hosted by Zoho. Each of those providers handles the message under its own terms while it is passing through or stored.

How long I keep it. If you become a client, California law requires me to keep records of the transaction, and I keep them for at least that long. If you don't, I keep the correspondence only as long as it is useful and then delete it. You can ask me to delete it sooner.

Bot protection. The forms use a hidden field and may use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated submissions. Turnstile is designed to work without tracking you across sites.

Analytics. None. There is no analytics package on this site counting visits or recording how you move around it.

Advertising measurement. I advertise on Google, and every page carries Google's ad tag so I can tell whether an ad led to a quote request or a message. When a page loads, the tag lets Google set or read a cookie and receive the page address, your browser and device type, and your IP address, which Google can use to connect your visit here to the Google ad you clicked. When a form is sent, the tag reports only that one was sent. Nothing you type into a form, including your name, email, phone number and answers, is passed to Google, and the tag is set not to build retargeting audiences. Google handles what it receives under its own privacy policy, and explains how it uses information from sites like this one here.

Opting out of it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the ad tag doesn't load at all. Blocking it with a content blocker works too. Every page and both forms work the same either way.

Please don't send sensitive numbers through the forms. Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, and bank or card numbers should not go in a web form or ordinary email. If I need them later, I'll tell you a secure way to send them.

A policy number is fine to send. It's printed on your ID card, it can't be used to move money on its own, and having it saves a step when I look at what you already have.

Text messages

Opting in is separate and optional. The consent to be contacted about your request and the consent to receive text messages are two different checkboxes on the forms. You can submit either form without agreeing to texts, and declining does not affect your quote or your coverage.

What you would get. Messages about the request you sent, a quote, a renewal, or a document I need from you. Not marketing blasts. Frequency varies with what is happening on your account, and in a quiet month there may be none at all.

Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, and HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not opt you out of email or phone.

Your mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with or sold to third parties, and are not shared with anyone else for their own marketing. That includes affiliates, carriers, and service providers. Mobile numbers collected for text messaging stay with me and are used only to message you.
